infoAbout NIT MCA Common Entrance Test

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Applicants must be citizens of India. Candidates may also apply for NIMCET 2024 if they want to take the qualifying exam. Candidates who have obtained a three-year BSc, BSc(Hons), BCA, or BIT degree from an open university may also apply, provided that the UGC, AICTE, and the Distance Education Council (DEC) of the Indian government have approved their program. SC/ST candidates must have completed at least three years of full-time BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, or BIT with mathematics, statistics, or an equivalent topic as one of the subjects from an accredited university, or have earned at least 55% of the possible points in aggregate, or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. Examinees may be students holding an accredited university's BE/B Tech degree or its equivalent. Candidates must have completed at least three years of full-time study in one of the following programs: (I) BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, or BIT with mathematics, statistics, or an equivalent subject as one of the subjects from a recognized university. This requires an aggregate score of at least 60% or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ST). EXAM PATTERN The NIMCET 2024 exam pattern and brochure will be made available by the authorities on nimcet.in. Candidates can review the specifics of the marking scheme and the format of the NIMCET test by using the exam pattern for NIMCET 2024. To have a general understanding of the exam, candidates are recommended to review the NIMCET 2204 exam pattern in advance. Set Theory- Concepts of sets- Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary Counting and Permutation and Combinations. Coordinate Geometry- Equations of a circle, Ellipse, Equation of a line, Rectangular Cartesian Coordinates, Parabola, Hyperbola, Distance Formulae, Intersection of Lines, Pair of straight lines. Probability and Statistics- Basis Concepts of Probability theory, Averages, Frequency Distribution, Dispersions, Dependent and Independent events, Measures of Central tendencies.
