The computer science and engineering department was established in the year 1996 keeping in mind, the increasing demand of computer engineers in the country.This department has well equipped labs with proper networking and all the necessary licensed softwares and hardwares according to AICTE guidelines to provide students a 'hands on' exposure in programming, developing and testing of applications.The Computer Science & Engineering Department is well maintained and fully air- conditioned.The teachers and supporting staff are well qualified, highly devoted and hard working and they emphasizes on interactive teaching and research methodology.The department has 5 well equipped laboratories with 250 nos. Latest configured computers connected with LAN to cater the computational needs of students. The Electronics & Telecommunication Department was established in 1996. Since then it has grown at fast pace and has maintained its position and reputation.The Department aims at producing qualified and dynamic engineers to cope with the rapidly developing era of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.All Laboratories are modern and well equipped with advanced instruments to accommodate 30 students in a group.All Laboratories are having standard instruction manuals for all syllabi experiments, which are duly prepared and revised by the staff members of the department. The objective of these manuals is to facilitate and guide the students to perform the experiments with ease.The teachers and supporting staff are well qualified, highly devoted and hard working.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the important departments of JIET and is considered one of the best Mechanical Engg. Department in the entire state.The department has a good infrastructure and best facilities among the various colleges in Odisha.It has qualified and dedicated faculty, having academic as well as industrial experience.
