Exam Name Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test Exam Conducting Body Anna University Courses Offered MBA and MCA Syllabus Analysis of Business Situation Reading Comprehension |Reading Comprehension Data Sufficiency General English Exam Mode Offline (OMR based) Eligibility Graduation with an aggregate score of 50% ( 45% for SC/ ST students) ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA There are particular requirements for eligibility that candidates must meet. The aspirant must, first and foremost, be an Indian citizen. They also need to be a Tamil Nadu state resident, either locally or permanently. The applicant's educational background should include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university. Depending on the applicant's category, different minimum scores are needed. For example, applicants in the general category must receive at least 50% in the qualifying exam, while candidates in the reserved group must receive at least 45%. Those in their last semester are eligible to apply as well. Interestingly, people who have a current GATE score card are not need to take the TANCET 2024. SYLLABUS Reading Comprehension Business, Technology, Sports, History, Politics, Geography, Environment, Medicine and Economics. Problem- solving- Binomial Theorem, Complex Numbers, Logarithm, Compound Interest, Mensuration, LCM and HCF Linear Equations, Percentages, Simple Interest, Speed Time and Distance, Quadratic Equations, Surds and Indices, Averages, Functions and Graphs, Progression, Mixtures, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Discount, Allegations, Inequalities, Ratio and Proportion, Trigonometry, Time and Work, Number Systems, Profit and Loss, Geometry Set Theory. Verbal Ab ility Sentence Correction, Parts of Speech, Exception in English grammar, Error correction and Synonyms and Antonyms Analysis of Business Situation This section will assess the business perspective of the candidates. Passages of 300 words each will be asked and will include 20-30 questions based on business. Data Sufficiency Basic mathematics will be asked and it is data- centric. It includes the question will two statements, in which students will have to derive a conclusion based on the set of options provided.
